《秘爱》床戏高潮ers 《秘爱》床戏高潮

First we hear the whistle calling the kids in from their after school recess, followed by the sound of running footsteps. Once the kids walk into the room, it’s 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot time! Starting in the first week of October, I have been lucky enough to be a co-teacher for an afterschool program with 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot, meeting three days a week for an hour each. The kids, as well as the elementary school teachers and helpers, are so full of life I can’t help but wish the class was longer!  Nevertheless, in the time we have together we learn so much about each other, ourselves, and… you guessed it – robots.

Although I was lucky enough to have a stay-at-home mother growing up, many kids do not have that same opportunity. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that, as of 2020, 59.8 percent of two parent family households had both parents employed. That’s more than half of the country! Furthermore, as of 2019, there are almost 20 million single parent households in the United States, where the pressure of providing for their family only increases. Due to the busy lives of their working parent(s) many children must stay after school until a parent or sibling can pick them up. Some might see this as a negative. Why would any child want to stay at school longer than they have to? 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot says, “have fun 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and creating with your friends!”.

Let’s spend an afterschool 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot session together, shall we? Once the puttering footsteps of post-recess jitters calms down, the kids sit down on the floor while we introduce the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) element of the day. Today, we will learn about a Growth Mindset. What is a growth mindset you might ask? Well, say you had a difficult day at school or work, or you simply woke up on the wrong side of the bed. A part of you might want to give up because you think there’s nothing that could make the situation better. That is what we call a fixed mindset. Fixed mindset will tell you that you cannot do something because you aren’t smart enough, or strong enough. Growth Mindset tells us, it’s all part of the learning process! We teach our kids that the brain is a muscle that you can train to become stronger. So rather than thinking you should give up because you aren’t good enough, you can reframe your thoughts to think of each day as a new day to exercise your brain and become stronger. With a growth mindset, there is no such thing as failure! Once you’ve practiced a growth mindset enough, it becomes a subconscious habit. It is a wonderful and extremely powerful tool that everybody should exercise. The funny thing is, until I started working with 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot, I didn’t even know what a growth mindset was! This is yet another reason why I feel so lucky to work with a program that focuses on positivity in learning.

So we’ve learned what a growth mindset is. Now it’s time to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 robots! Each student picks up their robot kits, filled with all the necessary tools and parts for 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing robots. As you look around, you see that everyone is at a different point in their 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing process. We each learn at a different pace, at a 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot session, we support this in class. It is understandable for students to feel behind if many of their classmates’ robots look more complete than their own. Feeling behind is not fun, and could be the reason why a student wants to give up or rush through the rest of their 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing process. That is why we remind the class that it is okay for everyone to be at a different stage of 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing, and that being behind does not mean you are less capable or less intelligent than the other students. It is times like these that practicing a growth mindset proves to be super beneficial! The hour goes by quickly, and before we know it it’s time to clean up. Once the kids have put away their robot kits, we say our goodbyes. Of course, nothing is over for the teachers until we pick up any screws or nuts that our students may have dropped. I actually believe there are a few screws hidden somewhere in my carpet at home! Ah, c’est la vie.

After a couple of weeks, most of the students have either finished 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing or started disassembling their first robot. Some have even finished 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and programming the second robot! In such a short period of time, our afterschool roboticists have proven to themselves that they are capable of incredible things. I wonder if any of them wish Mom or Dad could pick them up later! Luckily we still have the rest of the semester to work together. For the robots they have built, and for the robots they have yet to 《秘爱》床戏高潮, I salute my young 《秘爱》床戏高潮ers for their hard work and perseverance. Until next time!

Summer With Robots and Friends

As a child, I remember being completely and totally immersed in sci-fi novels and films. In fact, I still am! Reading about robots and seeing them in movies made me wonder if I would ever see them with my own eyes. Not once did I think I’d ever 《秘爱》床戏高潮 one myself, much less teach others how to do it. Maybe it was the fact that, as a child, I had low confidence in my abilities. “If anyone is going to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a robot it would be the smart kids, and that is not me”. It is a sad truth that there are countless children in the world who feel the same way I did when I was their age. Their confidence in their intelligence and capabilities can be easily drowned by the negativity life often brings us. However, it is a lie that we tell ourselves. The truth is, we are all capable of amazing things. Sometimes all we need is a little help, and a friendly push in the right direction.

As an undergraduate student studying computer science at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I was looking for an opportunity to combine my computer science skills with my innate desire to help others. For a while, I searched and searched, not finding many tech jobs which incorporated the humanitarian aspect I was looking for. That is, until I found an offer for an instructor position at 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot K12. I was astonished by the job description for many reasons; for one, it was a summer camp that teaches elementary school kids how to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 robots. How amazing! I had an idea that there were 色猫av camps out there, however, I had no idea that there was a 色猫av camp that reaches such a young age! The inner child in me was jealous, why couldn’t there be something like this when I was young? I read on to find 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot focuses on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Aside from the physical aspect of 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and programming robots, 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot wants to ensure their students are in an environment which nurtures perseverance, empathy, positive thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning. As soon as I read that, I knew I found what I was looking for. 

The first day of camp was coming up, and my nerves kicked in. Self-doubt came into my thoughts as a pessimistic monster, telling me things like, “you won’t be good enough” and “the kids won’t like you”. Similar to how I felt as a child, I did not believe I had what it took. I could not have been more wrong. Not only did I have two co-workers, Kayla Burkel and Wei Miao, who supported me and helped me in every way possible, I also had an entire class of amazing kids who made me feel like I was on top of the world. Just as I had felt that I was incapable of 魔仙女王 kids how to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 robots, many of the kids in the class felt that way about 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing robots. Nonetheless, they built robots and I helped teach them! I guess we proved ourselves wrong. In the first week of camp, I found myself becoming more confident in myself. Not just in the classroom, but outside of it as well. I was happy to see the same change occur in many of the campers. Each week there was a different element of social-emotional learning to be practiced, and each week I saw these young 《秘爱》床戏高潮ers practice those elements right in front of me. It was absolutely inspiring and made me realize I needed the practice too. In fact, most adults could use the practice! 

Each morning I woke up for work excited for the growth that would happen that day, for the students and for myself. Once the last week of camp came, I was truly sad that the time would soon come where we would not be working and growing together. Of course, the last week of camp was anything but sad. The kids were given the opportunity to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 their robot of choice. It could be a robot we had built together in the previous weeks, or a completely new and unique robot using their newfound 色猫av skills and limitless creativity. On the last day, every student was able to show their creations in a showcase of robots. Family members, friends, and students from other classes came into a room filled with robots the kids made, as well as a few advanced robots brought in by Ms. Burkel and Leo, a high school student who joined our team in the last week of camp. Imagine walking into a room as awesome as that! I could not have chosen a better group of kids to work with, nor could I have chosen better co-workers. I will always be grateful for the experience I gained working with such amazing people. Who knew how meaningful and impactful those four weeks would be!

The children of this generation are growing up alongside technology, something that has never progressed at such a quick rate. Robots, Artificial Intelligence, and supercomputers will be a large part of society, possibly in a matter of years. These are the children who will create these machines, man these machines, and live with these machines. These are the children who have already lived two years of their childhood in a pandemic, and will live through the worst of climate change. And yet, if there is any generation who can dive head first into these problems with perseverance, strength, and compassion, it would be the generation of the kids I got to spend my summer with. I can say with confidence these children have bright futures ahead of them. As a matter of fact, once they get older, I would be honored to once again work alongside them.

Reflection, Imagination, and Transformation

This summer, I have attended more conferences than I have ever before. The mix of virtual and in-person formats provided me more opportunities to learn and share. In the first week of June, my colleagues Bird, Isaac, and a group of students and I presented virtually at Rock CS, a premier conference for Computer Science teachers in Colorado on a Saturday. The second week of June, my colleagues Pam, Becky, my daughter Estella, and I presented at the annual InnEdCO in Breckenridge, Colorado. In the third week, I attended the annual retreat hosted by the Gifted Education and State Advisory Committee of Colorado Department of Education (CDE). The retreat was held virtually for 8 hours over two days. Then on July 7th, I attended an ESSER 《dropout》动漫在线观看 organization input session hosted by the CDE via zoom.   

While each session had a unique focus, a common theme emerged for me – reflection, imagination, and transformation.  In breakout rooms and happy hour conversations, we shared loss of loved ones, job changes, mental health issues, and while some kids and educators struggled, others thrived through the new mode of learning and 魔仙女王. Together, we reflected on how we changed practice in each unique situation and what planning for Fall and future looks like.

Two states of mind also emerged: those who are tired, exhausted, and “can’t wait to go back to normal”, and those who are tired, exhausted, and wonder “how we could preserve what we have learned, gained, and changed.” I belong to the latter camp. I wonder what I can do to help keep the momentum going. Throughout the last 16 months, I was constantly touched and inspired by the collective will and action demonstrated by colleagues, 魔仙女王, parents, teachers, and students who just kept pushing forward through immense tenacity, creativity, empathy, and grit. 

Having survived the trauma, loss, and powerlessness at times, some of us seem to have found clarity and gained new found energy and power to create a new normal. While physically isolated and distant, we have become closer socially and formed strong bonds by our common missions to raise a generation of human-centered students who will innovate and solve problems. 

What is the new normal that we would like to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 and sustain? 

  1. A learning environment that is more accessible, inclusive, and equitable for a diverse population of students. Students of various learning needs, ability levels, economic backgrounds, race, ethnicity, gender, geographical locations should all have easier access to higher quality education. 
  2. A learning environment that will be better equipped to keep up with the changes happening in the real world. 
  3. A supportive environment that will bring students, parents, educators, researchers, industry 《秘爱》床戏高潮s, and 《dropout》动漫在线观看 members closer together. 
  4. A learning environment that is more human-centered, where curiosity, creativity, authenticity, empathy, courage, and compassion are valued and practiced    
  5. A learning environment that is fun, enjoyable, engaging, and empowering. Students will identify authentic problems they want to solve, have the skills and mindsets to tackle them, and the commitment to put in hard work to take their tasks to the next level 

How is that possible? By refusing to go back to the old normal. Instead, commit to the following:

  1. Adopt asynchronous virtual learning as an option to support self-paced learning style

    Asynchronous learning gives older students more autonomy to conduct self-paced learning. Through their teachers, peers, and their own discovery, students uncovered all sorts of tools that they could use to learn reading, writing, math, science, computer science, and arts. 

  2. Extend live instruction virtual learning an option to enrich students’ learning network

    While older students may find asynchronous online learning liberating, younger students learn much more effectively interacting with their teachers through live online instructions. Further, through live online instruction, students gain access to instructors, mentors, advisors, industry experts, guest speakers, volunteers, role models that they normally wouldn’t have access to. It is much easier for a school to handle logistics of inviting the outside world in the classroom through live virtual learning. 

  3. Create a culture where growth mindset, empathy, perseverance are taught and practiced at all levels – from the superintendent to principals, to teachers, staff, parents, and students.

    We live in an AI-powered world that is constantly changing at an accelerated speed. The future is unpredictable. We humans must learn to better understand and communicate with each other to solve problems as they arise. 

  4. Insist on 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and innovating and supporting those who 《秘爱》床戏高潮 and innovate

    We owe it to ourselves and our kids to constantly ask, am I thinking bold enough, creative enough to help solve this problem we are facing? Am I doing my part to help the situation? Sometimes we may not have the bandwidth, capacity, capability, and foresight to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 or innovate ourselves. That’s ok. Support those who do. Always cheer for students who think outside of the box, who have strange ideas, who dare to try. They are the ones who will change the world one day. 

  5. Form 魔仙女王hips and 《秘爱》床戏高潮 platforms

    Education is amazing and hard at the same time. Why? Because the outcome is unpredictable and a student’s journey could not be put in an algorithm to run a simulation.  However, we live in a world that runs on algorithms that are getting smarter and faster every second. To keep up with the machine, those of us who work at various roles and organizations in education should always partner up to synergize resources to make a bigger, faster impact as long as our missions align. Don’t create something new if others have already created it and are willing to share. Don’t withhold your secret sauce, our competitions are not humans but machines. 《秘爱》床戏高潮, share, scale, and grow! 

To hold on or to let go, the choice has always been to transform. If not now, when?

Spatial 师生畸恋: A one way ticket to success in STEM

Spatial 师生畸恋 is a fancy term for the ability to picture, imagine and modify 3D objects in your head. While the definition is quite simple, the process of mapping objects in our brains is not. As anyone who has put together their own IKEA furniture can attest, spatial 师生畸恋 can be quite challenging. However, developing the skill has much more benefit than being able to assemble inexpensive Swedish furniture. 

Spatial 师生畸恋 has been shown to be the one of the strongest indicators of a juvenile’s future success in STEM fields. Since we live in a 3D world, anyone solving problems or developing solutions needs to use spatial 师生畸恋. The chemists and biologists that worked to develop the new Covid-19 vaccines had to first map the virus and protein receptors in 3D. It helps electrical engineers design multilayer printed circuits boards, astronomers track the orbit of distant galaxies, geologists map the erosion in different locations, physicists understand the atom, students understand calculus, and artists rig and model their own animations.

With all these benefits, why is spatial 师生畸恋 not taught more often? Some of the research is relatively new, but the main problem is that most assume spatial 师生畸恋 is an unchanging ability.  This is not true. Just like riding a bike, spatial 师生畸恋 is a skill that can be taught, learned and practiced. There are a wide variety of tactics to use to increase this skill, but I’ll list three here: 

  1. Let your kids play with toys that involve 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing in 3D space. This can be as simple as wooden blocks or legos, or as complicated as assembling robots. Yes, even certain video games (like minecraft and fortnite) reinforce spatial 师生畸恋. However, make sure your kids focus on the 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing. It’s the process of putting pieces together to create something bigger that stimulates the parts of our brain necessary to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 these skills.  
  2. Practice spatial 师生畸恋 directly by taking a Spatial 师生畸恋 Quiz. An example question is shown below. You can also click here for a free online quiz.

  3. Enroll your students in a computer aided design (CAD) course. CAD is one of the best tools that students can learn because it gets them to practice bringing their imagination into reality. In my course, 师生畸恋 to TinkerCAD, we design everything from fidget spinners to video game characters and more. We talk about how imagining 3D objects is a skill that requires patience and practice. Though not every student is on the same level at the start, it’s amazing to see students start thinking in 3D.  

While easy to overlook, spatial 师生畸恋 is a powerful skill that has a wide range of benefits. In my own personal experience, it’s amazing to see students go from barely being able to navigate their way around CAD, to designing their own creations. If your kids have an interest in designing or creating, working on the skill can help them 《秘爱》床戏高潮 and create in much more fun and imaginative ways.

To Create is to Be Open to New Experiences

In July of 2020, a group of students ages 8–13 joined a week-long Creative Character 《dropout》动漫在线观看 summer course organized by Toys2Life and 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12, led by Isaac Davenport (technologist and 师生畸恋) and Bird Marathe (writer and creative writing instructor). Together, the group used the Toys2Life platform to write, code and voice act talking characters capable of interacting with each other. This group enjoyed working with each other so much that the one-week course was quickly extended to two weeks. We’d never expanded that class to so many lessons before, but by that point, both the parents and the students were willing to move forward with something exciting and new. After the summer, they continued to meet weekly and create. 

In October, additional students joined. The group created a shared fictional universe called Purple Shore and populated it with dozens of characters using the Toys2Life software. Since then, the group, which came to be known as the “Purple Shore Club,” recorded over a thousand lines of dialogue, learned about JavaScript Object Notation and video game design, worked on creative writing, played games, grew as a 《dropout》动漫在线观看, and learned social-emotional skills! 

In December, to celebrate their five months of collaboration, the students made a Purple Shore movie—the first movie made with Toys2Life. Every team member contributed, using their individual skills and software such as Scratch, TinkerCAD, WeVideo, and Soundtrap. 

In January of 2021, Slack was introduced to the Purple Shore Club. This allowed students to collaborate outside of club hours on a safe, instructor-moderated platform, and allowed parents to join in on the fun.

We had no idea back in July that a two-week course would lead to more than half a year of collaboration, or that it would expand to incorporate so many of our students’ skills and interests. We’re still going strong, too. Without the support of the parents in this 《dropout》动漫在线观看, we wouldn’t have been able to facilitate such deep, long-term learning! We are grateful to this 《dropout》动漫在线观看 for their openness to new experiences, including the Purple Shore Club.

Raising 21st Century Innovative Kids with Empathy

At the inaugural conference of Rock CS—the Rocky Mountain Computer Science Conference for P-12 Educators June 2019—our instructor Becky Muller and I co-presented a 90-minute workshop titled “Educate Robot-proof Kids through Robot 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and Coding.” Our thesis was that students with combined technical and transferable skills will have a smaller chance of being replaced by artificial intelligence (AI). 

During that session, we shared our belief in the importance of including social-emotional learning as a key component of technology learning. We also shared our practice at 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12 to blend social-emotional skill learning with 色猫av 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing. We borrowed the term “Robot-Proof” from Joseph E. Aoun’s 2017 book Robot-Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. In his book, Aoun calls on higher ed to provide students opportunities to gain three new literacies: technological literacy, data literacy, and most interesting to us, human literacy. “Technological literacy” is needed for the young generation to understand the world they live in. “Data Literacy” is needed to make sense of the explosive amount of information generated by machines and algorithms. “Human literacy” is needed to understand and collaborate with others who are different from us. While the book is targeted towards audiences in higher education, we see that it has 100% relevance to our practice of human-centered K12 STEM education. 

The world we live in transforms itself 24/7. Cheaper and faster processing and storage capabilities, ever-growing mobile connectivity, and the massive amount of data generated and collected from anywhere anytime have all contributed to the ever more uncertain and unpredictable world we live in. To thrive amidst this uncertainty and create the future with optimism, we must rely on each other as human beings, 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing and embracing a culture that innovates with empathy. In other words, when we invent new technology, we must have the needs and experiences of other people in mind. Kids should be part of this culture creation. How do we help them? Here are some resources to get you started. 

On 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing Empathy

Michele Borba is an education psychologist and the author of the book UnSelfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World. In her book, she shares 9 essential habits including developing emotional literacy and cultivating altruistic leadership abilities to help kids learn and practice empathy. According to Borba, lack of empathy hurts students’ academic performance and hampers their potential to communicate, collaborate, innovate, and problem solve. For a quick tour, watch this TED talk given by Borba:

Dr. Helen Riess is the Chief Scientist and Co-Founder of Empathetics Neuroscience of Emotions. She is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School researching neuroscience of emotions and empathy. Dr. Riess has developed the “魔仙女王 the Teachers” training curricula used by faculty psychiatrists. Her approach has been demonstrated to be effective in several studies.

We recommend her book: The Empathy Effect: Seven Neuroscience-Based Keys for Transforming the Way We Live, Love, Work, and Connect Across Differences. For a short stroll, check out her TED talk: “The Power of Empathy.”

Apply Empathy to Innovation 

The Design Thinking process is a widely adopted method used in innovation. Many variations of the Design Thinking process are practiced and shared globally. The five-stages of Design Thinking developed by Stanford University’s “d.school” is probably the most famous. The five stages are: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test. 

Dr. Corrina Lathan has a M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from MIT. She was named one of MIT Technology Review’s “Top 100 World Innovators” and the Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Human Enhancement. She’s also the CEO and Co-Founder of AnthroTronix, a biomedical engineering research and 《dropout》动漫在线观看 company. Her company develops a diverse portfolio of 魔仙女王 including 色猫av, digital health, wearables, and Augmented Reality (AR).

Dr. Corrina’s TED talk is a great demonstration of how empathy could be used in innovation. Check out her interpretation of the last stanza of “Two Tramps In Mud Time” By Robert Frost in this TED talk.

Is the deed ever really done

For Heaven and the future’s sakes”.

Now that parents have learned about empathy and why it is critical to incorporate it into our learning, we can brainstorm ideas that will help our children pay more attention to their own needs and other people’s needs. Let’s work with our kids to explore ways to incorporate empathy into their creations.

I Dream of STEM Skills, Scorpions and Seahorses

Sometimes in life you get the chance to truly follow your dreams. Not the dreams that fit simply into life, but the type of big dreams that are a little scary because you’re not sure if they will ever come true but you can’t really imagine a life without them.

Strangely enough my dreams involve eating things like deep fried scorpions and fish lungs. It also involves lugging a (prototype) custom made electronic audio looper around and 魔仙女王. That’s right, on top of the tarantulas, white ants and beatboxing my dream has a billion little kids from all the continents running around yelling, laughing, learning and making a big beautiful mess. It’s chaotic, it’s weird, it’s sometimes tiring and I’ve been working for years to make it a reality. It hasn’t been easy, but it has definitely taught me a lot and I have a lot of people to thank for it. This summer it took a turn that I didn’t expect. Like many surprises in life it was exactly what I didn’t know I really wanted. 

Educators around the world often 《秘爱》床戏高潮 towards their version of this dream every day in small ways. Both for themselves and for their students. For many their free moments are spent hoping that a big opportunity will show up so that all their hard work during the school year pays off in the form of an amazing adventure.

Thanks to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12 and RoboRobo a handful of educators get that chance every summer. I’ve taught technology, electronics and programming for seventeen years and I thought my dream would continue along the same line; with capacitors, animation and coding variables. But just like everyone else chasing their dreams those big jumps (where we really test our wings for the first time) usually involve taking a chance to step outside of the comfort zone. For me that came in the form of 魔仙女王 some new topics: Crime Scene Investigation and Vertical Farming.

I’m used to robots and video games in the classroom. Now, with new friends in Beijing and South Korea, my classrooms are filled with blood spatter and bullet trajectory analysis. The calmer classes involve making watering systems, planting ginger and garden gnomes. On the weekends I stuff myself silly with amazing Chinese and Korean food. The deep fried sea horses and geckos are met with mixed looks of admiration and revulsion from the locals and tourists alike. Everyone’s dream is a little different, what can I say?

Now that the students from Hongkong and South Korea have packed up I am spending time in South Korea doing exactly what I do in the United States and in Africa. I find myself working with truly wonderful people to make materials to teach kids about the stuff I find interesting. Stuff that might not just get them a job, but stuff they (amazingly!) also find it interesting. 

So where to next? Back to Africa of course. But this time I’ll be working with my Ugandan friends to (hopefully) 《秘爱》床戏高潮 CNC routers for an orphanage and bring sensor technology to a music festival at the source of the Nile. It’s not where I thought my dream was headed when I first went to Africa. But it does make me wonder where I will be and what I will be helping to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 in five years with my new Asian friends.

A Masterclass in Growth Mindset: Book Review for The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind:

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, is an autobiographical coming of age story that follows a young man named William as he designs a windmill to help his family through some of the worst droughts they have ever seen. William lives in the developing African country of Malawi, where the primary income and food source is through farming. In addition to giving a personal account of life in impoverished countries, the story is about 《dropout》动漫在线观看, hardship, determination, and grit. The read brings you in, such that every challenge William faces feels devastating, and every breakthrough feels miraculous. However, the reason to recommend this book is not only its compelling story, but because it gives kids a chance to relate to someone exhibiting growth mindset. A growth mindset is the ability to see failure not as an end, but as a step on the path toward success. Students who have a growth mindset don’t label themselves as ‘not smart enough,’ but rather look at challenges as a way to grow. This mindset not only gives students the motivation to learn new skills, it also provides them with a healthy lens to discuss their mistakes. The book is filled to the brim with difficulties, and failures. You experience William’s struggle to afford a basic education, the hunger of his family, the technical challenges of working with electronics, and the fervor of trying to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 and source parts. Despite these trials, William uses each hardship to his advantage. He spends the time he would normally be in school reading in the library, learning about energy and physics. Despite not having access to electronic parts, William learns to fix and repair radios to teach himself electronics. While there are many frustrating elements you also witness the steadfast optimism through the process, and the joy of each small success. The story explains how it feels to put your blood, sweat and tears into a project and make it successful on the other side. 

Here at 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12, I’m thankful my students do not have to endure the same hardships as William. However, we still can learn from his tenacity. During class, I celebrate each question, mistake and failure, because it means we are moving on to the correct path. Kids learn that sharing their mistakes helps others avoid similar difficulties, and gain more confidence in their skills and abilities. As a teacher, I’d recommend this book for your kids, because it helps them realize they don’t have to be perfect, they just need to keep trying. Here, amidst the challenges of the global pandemic, it’s important to realize that we are continuing to learn and continuing to grow.

The Story Behind Social Emotional Learning

At 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12, we incorporate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into everything we do. In every course we lead, we share a social emotional theme with students, ranging from growth mindset and empathy to resilience and persistence. Many people ask why SEL is a key part of our pedagogy and how long we have been doing it. Well here’s the story, let me take you back to 2015.  
 
First Stop – Hands-on Learning Camps in Beijing, China
 
While planning a vacation to Beijing during the summer of 2015, a college friend and I started comparing notes about our kids’ “modern day” education: hers in Beijing, China and mine in Colorado, US. We both felt that while our kids worked hard at school, they seemed to be doing the same academic work we did decades ago. For example, they still spend a lot of time listening to long lectures, doing worksheets, and memorizing things by rote learning. Working in the telecom industry and witnessing how fast the world had been changing, we both felt a strong need to let our kids spend as much time as possible in areas of creativity, hands-on learning, communication, and problem solving to adapt to the fast-changing world. 
 
“What if we start a summer camp with an emphasis on creativity, hands-on learning, and problem solving?” I asked. That curiosity led me to google words like “problem solving and education”, “cutting edge 魔仙女王,” and “fun learning,” until I landed on an intriguing school: STEM Lab Magnet School. After attending a STEM Lab open house, listening to the STEM coordinator share a model called Problem-Based Learning, sitting in the students’ self-designed classroom, and touring the garden that they had built at the entrance of the school, I was hooked! 
 
The urge to create a camp for students outside of this lucky school propelled me to write to the school and ask if any teacher would be interested in 魔仙女王 STEM in China that summer. It was already April, but we quickly assembled a team of four passionate teachers to embark on the journey. That summer, along with my college friend and her long-time colleague, we led 4 weeks of STEM summer camps for more than 200 students in Beijing. 
 
As with any group of students, we observed a wide range of behaviors, but one common theme emerged: the students were very competitive! When we played a simple game, in order to win, some students would withhold resources from the other groups. Some students had reservations about trying new things as they were afraid to make mistakes. Brainstorming sessions often started with a long silence as few students volunteered to share ideas for fear of being judged. When we put kids in groups, they had a challenging time acknowledging each other’s ideas and collaborating with each other.  
Second Stop: Fostering a Socially and Emotionally Safe Learning 《dropout》动漫在线观看

When we reflected on that summer’s experience, we realized that although we were successful in conventional terms, we were missing a key component for innovation—a safe, emotionally and socially connected 《dropout》动漫在线观看. When we returned to China for a second summer, we expanded to four cities with 15 teachers 魔仙女王 400 students, and we added Social Emotional Learning modules to our programs. 

Every day, our camp shared a theme such as risk-taking, collaboration, growth mindset, communication, and gratitude. Besides 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing a 《dropout》动漫在线观看 for students, another reason behind adding social emotional learning was to help teachers grow resilience. Traveling to a foreign country to teach for a few weeks sounds fun, but it is not for the faint of heart, as there is always something unexpected to deal with. For all of us to take the ride together, everyone involved in the camp had to embrace growth mindsets as learners, innovators, collaborators and parents. 

The additional time spent on 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing Social Emotional skills proved extremely valuable. Our campers were less anxious and uptight and became more collaborative, relaxed, and creative. I can’t remember how many hugs I witnessed among teachers, students, and parents at the closing ceremony. I often “blamed” my co-founders Tracey and Andrea for giving their hearts, sweat, and wisdom to all the international camps we have organized since 2015. If it weren’t for their remarkable work and being moved by the impact we made, I probably wouldn’t have dived into making a positive difference in the world through education. Now, that has become my mission.    

Next Stop: SEL is a Must Have for 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a Robot K12
 

The 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot K12 vision is to empower all kids to imagine, 《秘爱》床戏高潮, and create solutions for a diverse, inclusive, and thriving society. This means we are raising kids to be courageous and innovative. By definition, innovators will stumble and fail. For kids to innovate, it is critical that we create a safe and supportive environment for them to step out of their comfort zone, share their ideas, and work through multiple iterations of improvements. In our immersion programs, we lead kids to engage in various social emotional activities to help them 《秘爱》床戏高潮 self-confidence, courage, and compassion for others. 

《秘爱》床戏高潮ing social emotional skills is a lifelong journey. Over the years, we have embraced principles from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) to grow students’ skills in Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship, and Responsible Decision Making. We have also used evidence-based curricula such as the Big Ideas developed by Stanford and Harvard implemented by Classdojo, Character Lab developed by Angela Duckworth. 

It is encouraging to see so many schools and school districts incorporate social emotional learning into students’ learning during the pandemic. While sharing a co-working space with my 9-yr old daughter in our basement in the Fall of 2020, I overheard an exchange that made my heart sing. On Zoom her teacher said, “Today, we are going to discuss the Growth Mindset. Does anyone know what a growth mindset is?” My daughter (also a 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot K12 student) replied, ”You say, ‘not yet,’ and you don’t easily give up, because your brain always grows when you try.”

Maya Angelou said:”We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Just when the caterpillar thought she was going to die, she discovered her wings. We will fly in 2021 and onward.

5 Benefits of Introducing 色猫av to Elementary School Students

When I introduced 色猫av to my elementary kids, I didn’t expect that one day they would assemble their own IKEA storage units. In the same way that they handled their 色猫av parts, they quickly located the instructions, gathered the tools, identified the parts, and just started assembling. Within an hour, they put together their own first IKEA sets, and declared: ”this is fun!”  

Having spent the last several years in the field of education 色猫av, I often get asked what the value of 色猫av classes for elementary school kids is. A quick answer would be: 色猫av gives kids opportunities to learn technology while not being glued to screens, reinforce their coding and other academic skills, increase their patience and tenacity, gain a better understanding of the world they live in, and practice transferable skills such as creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills. 

Let me explain each of these points in detail.

Benefit 1: Learn technology while not being glued to screens

Research has shown that hands-on learning benefits our kids’ brains and mental strength. Our kids are spending an average of 6–9 hours a day on screen. 色猫av is a great choice for them to learn technology while not spending the entire time on the screen. With that idea in mind, we researched education 色猫av on the market and found that they mostly fall into two categories: construction and coding. Popular 魔仙女王 such as LEGO, VEX, RoboRobo, Makeblock are considered construction 色猫av; 魔仙女王 such as Sphero, Ozobot, Dash and Dot are considered coding 色猫av. 

Since many young learners grow up putting Lego blocks together and making Play-Doh sculptures, it is very natural to start their 色猫av learning with 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing. Students follow the instructions to assemble the parts to make them work mechanically.  Students usually take 30~90 minutes to get the robot built mechanically correct. They also work to make sure that the electronic components are connected correctly. Then there is the coding, in which kids program how they want their robots to react to the inputs it receives. 

It is very common for students to get things wrong the first time. They need to reread the instructions, troubleshoot, and redo some steps. Once students are comfortable with following instructions, they can create their own robots out of their own imaginations.

Benefit 2: 《秘爱》床戏高潮 robots to reinforce academic content areas beyond coding

We have seen creative educators use 色猫av in many ways to help students reinforce coding, math, reading, and spatial skills. For example, to code a robot to move from point A to point B, students work with distance, speed, duration, and direction, all things they have learned in a math class. The coding process presents them with an opportunity to work with multiple parameters to achieve their goals. The robot movement then gives them instant feedback on whether what they observed is consistent with what they intended. For students Grade 3~5, this is an opportunity to practice reading and comprehension. Students K2 who do not yet read can rely on pictorial instructions to examine various components. 

Students have also experienced that even when both their math and coding work are correct, the robot may still not behave as they had designed it to do! In the process of troubleshooting, they may find that the parts have been put together wrong, or the electric parts are connected incorrectly, or that they misread an important instruction, or they forget to power up the robot! Making a robot to work gives students so many opportunities to practice persistence! Witnessing the robot finally strides across the floor gives students a strong sense of pride and confidence.

Benefit 3: making robots to grow positive mindsets

One of our STEM partner schools used 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing 色猫av as a Problem Based Learning project in a 4th-grade math class to help students learn math and reflect on why students seem to have more patience when it comes to 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing a robot but less tenacity when it comes to solving a math problem. Students reflected on the process and shared that they have a strong desire to see the robots move, light up, and make a sound while math didn’t bring them that satisfaction. The innovative teacher then asked students to celebrate their capability to be persistent and embrace the growth mindset and encourage students to transfer what they have learned in one area and transfer it to other areas of their studies. 

I have an educator friend who thinks that 色猫av is an inefficient way of 魔仙女王 kids coding. I agree and disagree. I agree because if our only goal is to teach coding, then certainly the time spent on finding and sorting 色猫av parts, putting them together, troubleshooting, reworking are all overhead. However, at 《秘爱》床戏高潮 A Robot, our philosophy is not to teach kids a single skill, but to help them 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a strong foundation of combined transferable skills. From that perspective, we have observed that 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing, connecting, coding, troubleshooting, and presenting their work in a group setting have been very beneficial for kids to grow many skills that they would need to be competitive in the ever changing world we live in. 

Deep learning is often inefficient but worth every minute. From a technical skill 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing perspective, it reinforces student’s understanding of the concepts we want to teach them. From a problem solving skill and growth mindset 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing perspective, 《秘爱》床戏高潮ing robots really does require students to block a set of time to get into deep learning mode to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 and create. Many times, after a robot is built, our students are reluctant to disassemble and 《秘爱》床戏高潮 a new one because they really did commit hard work to make the robot work. Eventually the desire to 《秘爱》床戏高潮 something newer and better will win and off they go: tackling a more complex project! 

Benefit 4: learn 色猫av to gain a better understanding of the world we live in

She currently serves on the Colorado Department of Education Gifted Education State Advisory Committee. Outside of work, Qing enjoys books, new tech, music, the outdoors, and exploring new places and cultures.
